🐶 Ralph’s Pawspective
This park is basically a dreamland for dogs who live for zoomies and sniffaris. There’s loads of room to sprint flat-out, plus heaps of fun stuff to explore. I found tunnels to race through, fallen tree trunks to climb and sniff, old tyres to investigate, and plenty of different surfaces that all smelled very interesting.
There’s also a nice, steady flow of pups coming through, which means lots of chances to make new friends, exchange important sniff-based information, and show off my “I’m definitely the fastest dog here” routine.
One small issue though… hoomans, please do better.
There was a bit of dog poo hanging around in some of the sandy areas. That’s a no from me.
Cleaning up after us pups is part of the deal—and nobody likes a surprise under the paw. Aside from that, this park delivers big time on fun, variety, and space.

Palmers Road Fenced Dog Park is a large, well-designed off-leash area that gives dogs the freedom to run, play, and socialise safely. The park’s size and layout make it especially good for high-energy dogs who need more than a quick lap around the block.
The mix of man-made obstacles and natural elements—like logs and open sandy areas—keeps dogs engaged and mentally stimulated. It’s generally quite dry underfoot, making it usable most of the year, although after rain there’s potential for muddy puddles to form (fun for dogs, less fun for clean shoes).
Shade is limited, so on warmer days hoomans should come prepared with water, hats, and sunscreen. While the park is mostly well maintained, there is occasional dog poo left behind, so it pays to watch where you step and keep an eye on your pup.
Overall, it’s a fantastic community dog park that would be even better with more shade and better clean-up habits from visitors.
Pro Tip
Bring water and a towel—especially after rain—and do a quick scan of sandy areas before full zoomies commence.
