🐶 Ralph’s Pawspective
Now this is my kind of surprise. One minute we’re bouncing along a dirt road, the next—boom—dog park.
And not the sad, postage-stamp sized kind either. Lake Centenary Dog Park is a big, open, fenced playground where a pup can really stretch their legs. Plenty of room to zoom, sniff, loop back, then zoom again (for scientific reasons).
The concrete pipes were a definite highlight. Excellent for jumping over, weaving through, and generally pretending I’m in some kind of elite agility squad.
There’s also a bin and poo bags right at the entrance—top marks for responsible hoomans thinking ahead. It’s simple, no-frills, and exactly what it needs to be. A great little find that feels like it was made by people who actually understand dogs.

👤 Human Highlights
Getting there feels a little adventurous, heading down a dirt road with canola fields stretching out around you. In fact, when we first arrived, we genuinely wondered if we’d accidentally pulled into someone’s backyard. But no—hidden gem unlocked.
The park itself is fully fenced and generously sized, making it ideal for dogs that need a proper run rather than a polite stroll. The open layout gives great visibility, while the scattered concrete pipes and simple training obstacles add just enough stimulation to keep dogs mentally engaged as well as physically active.
It’s not flashy, and there’s no café or fancy seating, but that’s part of the charm.
This is a practical, thoughtfully set-up space that does one thing well: gives dogs a safe, enclosed area to burn energy and have fun. If you’re passing through Temora or staying nearby, Lake Centenary Dog Park is absolutely worth the detour—especially if your dog has a bit of pent-up zoom waiting to be released.

Pro-Tip
Don’t be put off by the dirt road or the “is this someone’s backyard?” feeling on arrival—keep going, bring water, and let your dog enjoy a proper off-leash run in this quiet, uncrowded hidden gem.
