🐶 Luna’s Lowdown

Moffat Beach Park? Surprisingly pleasant. Ocean views, sea breezes, and soft sand underpaw — not bad at all for a coastal outing.

I investigated, and confirm Dogs are allowed off-leash at certain times (check the signs – I always do), and while I stayed on-lead this time, I’ve diarised to tell Ralph he’d love the freedom here during the right hours. He’s a sucker for a sandy zoom.

The pandanus trees offer decent shade, and there’s plenty of space to stroll and sniff. Lots of locals and their pups around, giving it a nice community feel — minimal nonsense, which I appreciate.

A breezy, balanced outing by the ocean. Calm, clean, and worth a return. Might even bring Ralph next time… if he behaves.

👤 Human Highlights

Moffat Beach Park is a much-loved local spot perfect for a breezy stroll, picnic, or simply watching surfers do their thing.

It’s perched right by the water with stunning coastal views, shaded grassy areas, and access to nearby dog-friendly cafes (coffee with a side of tail wags – yes please).

There’s a kids’ playground (note: dogs not allowed), public toilets, BBQs, and benches, making it ideal for a laid-back morning or afternoon. Just be aware – it gets busy on weekends, so arrive early if you’re after a prime shady spot or close parking.

Off-leash hours are limited to certain times of day, so keep an eye on the signage (or let your dog read it – we’re convinced Ralph tries).

Pro Tip

Head down during off-peak hours (early morning or late arvo) to enjoy off-leash freedom and snag a shady patch near the pandanus trees. Don’t forget water and a towel – coastal zoomies are highly likely.
