🐶 Ralph’s Pawspective
Kalorama Park is a lovely spot for a slow, sniff-filled walk.
Plenty of open grassy areas to explore, some shady spots to pause and observe, and the fresh mountain air makes every paw-step feel energizing.
The lookout is a highlight—great for stretching the legs and soaking in sweeping views. Not too busy when we visited, which meant lots of freedom to wander and investigate.
A few curious scents and interesting smells kept me busy.
Dogs are allowed on lead in certain areas, which is perfect for a controlled sniffing adventure.

👤 Human Highlights
Kalorama Park is quiet, well-maintained, and ideal for a low-key visit away from the more crowded Dandenongs attractions.
The lookout offers sweeping views of the surrounding valleys and is a nice reward after a gentle stroll.
Dogs are allowed on lead in designated areas only, as the park is adjacent to Mount Dandenong Ranges National Park where dogs are generally not permitted.
Paths are easy to navigate, making it suitable for families and furry friends in the allowed areas.
While it’s not a destination for big events, it’s a peaceful stop for anyone wanting a short nature escape or a link on a longer Mount Dandenong walk.

Pro-Tip
Head to the lookout mid-morning for the best views and fewer walkers, and always keep pups on lead in designated areas.
