🐶 Ralph’s Pawspective

Now this was a pawsitively breezy pit stop! 🌬️🐶

I strutted my stuff along the Mooloolaba coastal walk and ended up at this big metal thing the hoomans said was a memorial for HMAS Brisbane. No sign of a real ship—apparently, it’s snoozing underwater somewhere out there. 🛳️🌊

The sea breeze gave my ears a dramatic movie-flap, and I soaked up the ocean views like the sophisticated beach hound I am. 🐾💁‍♂️

There was grass to sit and roll on, hoomans to admire me, and plenty of spots to leave a little “Ralph was here” scent note.

I wouldn’t call it a sniff-and-stay kind of place, but it made for a top-tier rest stop.

👤 Human Highlights

HMAS Brisbane Lookout at Alexandra Headland is a peaceful commemorative spot nestled along the scenic Mooloolaba coastal walk.

With uninterrupted views of the ocean and fresh coastal breezes, it’s an ideal place to pause and reflect during a morning or afternoon stroll.

The memorial honours the former HMAS Brisbane, a naval destroyer now resting offshore as a dive site and artificial reef.

There are a few benches and a grassy verge, but not much shade or infrastructure—so it’s not a spot to linger long, but it does offer a meaningful and beautiful moment during a coastal walk. The area is well-maintained and dog-friendly, provided pups stay on-lead.

Pro Tip

Pack your own water and a hat—there’s limited shade and no facilities, but it’s a great scenic pause on your walk.
