🐶 Ralph’s Pawspective

A nice dog-friendly little forest walk — some sealed paths, some not. It’s something different from the usual dog park run. Not too many people around either, so it felt like a private sniffari with my hooman. 🌲🐕

The smells were top-notch! Every corner had something new to sniff — trees, bushes, logs, even the odd stick worth carrying for a while.

With fewer dogs around, I could take my time investigating without feeling rushed. If you’re a pup that likes exploring without too much distraction, this place is a real treat. 🐶👃

I also loved the change of pace compared to busy beaches or parks.

It felt calm, cool under the shade of the trees, and perfect for trotting alongside my hooman. It’s not the kind of place for a flat-out sprint, but more of a “slow and steady wins the race” kind of walk. Tail wags all the way. 🐕‍🦺✨

👤 Human Highlights

A hidden gem in Buderim, the EJ Foote Sanctuary offers more than you might expect at first glance.

With a series of peaceful trails, it’s the sort of place you’d miss if you didn’t know it was there. The paths are fairly well maintained, with a mix of sealed and unsealed tracks, making it a relaxed yet interesting spot for a stroll.

The sanctuary has a quiet, reflective feel to it, given its origins as a war memorial. The surrounding gardens and greenery are calming, creating a peaceful atmosphere that makes you slow down and simply enjoy the walk. It’s the perfect location if you’re after somewhere that feels off the beaten path but still close to town.

For dog owners, it’s a great change of scenery from the usual routine. The shaded tracks keep it cool even on warmer days, and the lack of crowds makes it ideal for dogs that prefer a calmer environment.

Whether you’re walking solo, with family, or with your pup, it’s a little pocket of nature that feels worlds away from the hustle of Buderim. 🌿

Pro Tip

Bring a water bottle and enjoy it while wandering the forest paths — it’s a refreshing change of pace for both hoomans and pups.
