🐶 Ralph’s Pawspective
Bokarina Beach? More like Bo-zoom-aria Beach! 🐶 I was off that lead and straight into the sand before you could say “tide’s coming in!” Big waves? Check. Salty breeze? Double check. Things to sniff and stuff washed up from the deep blue? Ohhh yes.
There’s loads of space to run, roll, and go full floof-mode with other pups – just make sure your hooman checks the signs for the on-lead/off-lead zones. I found the off-lead spots pawticularly liberating. The ocean was a bit wild the day we visited, but nothing a brave beach boi like me couldn’t handle. 🐾
Would I go again? You bet your biscuits I would.
👤 Human Highlights
Bokarina Beach is a local gem – more chilled than some of the busier Sunshine Coast beaches but still popular with afternoon walkers and paw-rents. There’s no patrol, so it’s swim-at-your-own-risk for humans, but for doggos it’s an off-lead paradise (in designated areas, so make sure you check the entry signs).
Facilities are decent too – taps and showers close to the entry point are handy for sandy paws and salty feet. If you’re looking for an easygoing stretch of coastline to let your dog run wild and free (and maybe enjoy a sunset stroll), Bokarina delivers.
Bonus: You might even find a sea sponge or two washed up on the sand – Ralph was very intrigued.

This beach isn’t patrolled and the waves can get strong, so keep an eye on both your pup and yourself when near the water.
