🐶 Ralph’s Pawspective

This is a nice little cafe, especially if you’ve got hoomans craving burgers and you’re happy to hang outside and supervise. We were allowed to sit outdoors, which is always a good start in my book — shaded seating, plenty to sniff, and a relaxed street-side vibe.

That said… I must address the water bowl situation. The puppies at the table next to us got bowls brought straight out, plus pats, plus playtime. Very cute. Very generous. But also… excuse me? We were right there too. Same number of paws. Same thirst levels. No bowl. No pats. Slightly wounded pride.

I didn’t cause a scene (I’m a professional), but it was a little disappointing. Especially on a warm day when a quick bowl of water makes all the difference. Still, it’s dog-friendly in the sense that dogs are welcome outside — just maybe not equally fussed over every time.

I’d happily sit here again, but next time I might politely remind the hoomans to ask upfront for water, just in case.

👤 Human Highlights

Roasted Kombi Cafe has the bones of a solid, casual Parkes eatery. The food was good enough — burgers were satisfying, portions decent, and everything came out as expected. Nothing flashy, but reliable cafe fare that does the job.

Where the experience fell short was service. On the day we visited, staff appeared more engaged with chatting to friends or regulars than attending to customers. Ordering felt slower than it needed to be, and interactions were functional rather than warm.

That’s not a deal-breaker on its own, but it did take away from what could otherwise be a great country cafe experience. In regional towns especially, you often expect, and appreciate, a little extra friendliness or attentiveness. Unfortunately, that country hospitality didn’t quite come through during our visit.

With more consistent service and attention to all tables (two- and four-legged alike), this could easily become a standout local hangout.

Pro-Tip

If you’re visiting with a dog, ask upfront for a water bowl — they’re available, but not always offered automatically.
