Ahoy there, mateys! ๐พ
This park had me sniffing the salty sea breeze like a true coastal pup. So many interesting smells drifted over from the boats bobbing about on the water โ I even locked eyes with a fish and thought I spotted a sneaky turtle too! ๐ข๐
There were lots of fellow doggos out for walkies, which meant plenty of sniff exchanges and tail wags.
The breeze? Fresh and fabulous โ I was working a full fur-blown-in-the-wind moment.
Just a heads-up though: I wasnโt allowed in the water here (boo!), so no splash zone for me.
But with the smells and sights? Still a top-tier tail-wagging time. ๐๐พ

๐ค Human Highlights
La Balsa Park is a gorgeous, well-loved local coastal gem.
With panoramic water views and boats lazily cruising past, itโs a beautiful spot for a stroll with your pup or a leisurely picnic. The pathways are wide and well-maintained, and the breeze off the water makes even warmer days feel pleasant.
That said, not all parts of the park are dog-friendly, so itโs important to stick to the designated dog zones. Keep an eye on the signage to avoid any off-limits areas. Itโs a popular spot โ especially on weekends โ so you might be sharing the walkways with joggers, families, and fellow dog lovers.
Make sure you bring sunscreen, a hat, and maybe a blanket or a fold-up chair if you plan to stay a while. There are some shady areas, but they fill up quickly. Also a good idea to pack some snacks or a thermos of coffee for a relaxed riverside outing.

Pro Tip
Bring sunscreen, a hat, and a few snacks for a relaxing morning or afternoon riverside with your pup.
