🐶 Ralph’s Pawspective
The Hideaway Bar & Bistro is tail-waggin’ good! 🐾
There’s a dog-friendly area where I could chill out in the shade and keep a close eye on the seagulls (they were very suspicious).
It was a bit busier than the beaches, but I found a comfy spot to lounge while the hoomans tucked into their food.
Paws up for a shady, social, and sniff-worthy rest stop!

👤 Human Highlights
The Hideaway Bar & Bistro brings together everything you want from a laid-back island escape: beach views, a relaxed resort-style setting, and a satisfying meal after a morning of exploring. Just a short walk from the ferry drop-off, it’s an easy and inviting spot to settle in for lunch or a cheeky drink.
On our visit, the casual coastal vibe was elevated by a live musician playing acoustic tunes – the kind of background music that makes you want to linger a little longer. It was a touch busier than other spots on the island, especially around peak lunch hours, but the lively atmosphere added to its charm.
The food was surprisingly impressive for a remote island venue. We enjoyed a Thai beef salad – fresh, zesty, and packed with flavour – and a classic burger that hit all the right notes. Portions were generous, and both meals felt like good value, especially when paired with the Keppel Konnections ferry + lunch package, which is well worth checking out if you’re planning a day trip.
Prices reflect typical island rates, but not exorbitant.
All up, it’s a great pit stop to refuel, relax, and take in the beachy atmosphere with your furry mate by your side.

Pro Tip
Book the Great Keppel Island Day Trip including lunch package when reserving your ferry – it’s good value and locks in a tasty island meal at Hideaway Bar & Bistro.
