Dog-Friendly Park Review – Pup-approved Summary
Compton Dog Park in Ballina is a spacious off-leash dog park featuring an agility area with equipment, making it ideal for energetic pups — however, as it’s only partially fenced and can have uncollected waste in spots, good recall and close supervision are essential for a safe and enjoyable visit.

🐶 Ralph’s Pawspective
Now this is what I call a playground! Compton Dog Park had big open spaces for zoomies and even a proper agility area — tunnels, ramps, the works. I strutted through like a canine Olympian… well, almost.
I had to stay focused though, because the back area isn’t fenced, and my hoomans kept mumbling something about “recall” like it was a sacred commandment. 🙄
Still, I had an excellent run, sniffed every corner, and loved stretching the legs. Just had to tread carefully — let’s just say not every pup before me cleaned up after themselves. Landmines detected.

👤 Human Highlights
Compton Dog Park is a spacious off-leash park with a bonus agility zone — great for working dogs or energetic pups who need more than just a stroll. However, it’s only partially fenced, especially towards the back, so reliable recall is essential.
On our visit, there was unfortunately a bit of uncollected dog poo, including in the agility sand area, which took away from the experience.
That aside, it’s a solid park for pups to let loose and burn energy — just keep an eye on your dog and your footing.

Pro Tip
Bring poo bags and treats — one for picking up, one for bribing your pup to actually come back when playtime gets too exciting!
