🐶 Ralph’s Pawspective
Well slap my leash and call me a free-range floof — this place is all about space! George Street Dog Park is basically a giant zoomie arena. Plenty of room to stretch the legs, practise my high-speed laps, and show off some world-class sniffing skills.
The ground was a bit on the crunchy side during our visit — dry enough to create a little dust cloud every time I hit turbo mode. Did I mind? Absolutely not. Dust just adds character.
There weren’t heaps of shady spots for mid-play cool-downs though, so between sprints I had to rely on my hooman for hydration management. (Honestly, they should carry a water bowl at all times. It’s basic service.)
Overall verdict from this professional park tester: excellent for energetic pups who like room to roam and don’t mind a little outback flair.

👤 Human Highlights
George Street Dog Park is a generous, fenced off-leash space in West Tamworth that gives dogs freedom to properly run. It’s simple and functional — ideal for high-energy breeds needing space rather than structured play equipment.
During our visit it was quite dry, which made the surface dusty underfoot. Shade is limited, so on warmer days it can feel exposed. Early mornings or late afternoons would likely be the most comfortable times to visit.
It’s a solid local option for exercise, just best enjoyed with a little preparation.

Pro-Tip
Bring water for your pup and consider packing a hat or umbrella — there’s not much shade, especially on hot days.
