Dog-Friendly Park Review – Pup-approved Summary

Looking for an off-leash dog park in Maroochydore with scenic river views? Cod Hole Park offers grassy space and waterside vibes but beware – no fences and proximity to a main road make it better suited for well-trained pups who won’t bolt. A lovely walk spot, but leads are strongly recommended for safety.

🐶 Ralph’s Pawspective

When I hear “off-leash park,” I get zoomie-level excited… but then my hooman gave me the ol’ stay-on-lead stare. 🥲 Why?

Because while this park says I can roam free, it’s right next to a busy road – and apparently, “chasing butterflies into traffic” is frowned upon.

That said, it’s a pretty spot by the river, and the smells were top tier.

I got a good trot in, wagged at a few fellow pups, and kept a very close eye on some ducks that were definitely mocking me from the water.

No fences here, so it’s lead-on for this easily distracted boy – but I still had a pawsome time sniffing every blade of grass like a detective on a mission.

👤 Human Highlights

Cod Hole Park is a beautiful, open green space alongside the river – and technically, it’s an off-leash dog area. But… it’s directly next to a main road with no fencing, so it’s not ideal for excitable or recall-challenged pups.

The park itself is clean, spacious, and has easy access to the river, making it a lovely place for a walk or riverside picnic.

But if you’re bringing a dog that thinks “stay” is just a suggestion, you’ll want to keep them leashed or try a safer, enclosed option nearby.

Pro Tip

Only let your dog off-lead here if they have rock-solid recall. There’s no fencing between the park and the road – so safety first, always!
