🐶 Ralph’s Pawspective

Now this was a good time. The Coo-ee Heritage and Visitor Information Centre has loads of open space to explore, sniff, and — most importantly — pose dramatically while hoomans take photos. There are paths to wander, grass to roll in, and plenty of fascinating smells telling very important historical dog stories (highly educational).

The real highlight? An off-lead area. Massive tick from me. Freedom, wind in the ears, and the nose fully in charge — absolutely living my best life. I had a lot of fun charging around and stretching my legs properly.

That said… apparently I “can’t be trusted” to come straight back when called. I strongly disagree with this assessment, but I accept that my nose occasionally leads me astray… oh look, something shiny!

If you are a dog with excellent recall, this place is perfect. If not, maybe keep negotiations short and the lead nearby.

Either way, I had a blast here and would happily return for another explore.

👤 Human Highlights

The Coo-ee Heritage and Visitor Information Centre is a well-maintained and welcoming space that combines local history with generous open grounds. The area is clean, thoughtfully laid out, and easy to walk around, making it a pleasant stop whether you’re visiting briefly or taking your time.

For dog owners, the off-lead area is a standout feature, offering plenty of room for dogs to run freely and burn off energy. As with any off-lead space, it’s best suited to dogs with reliable recall, as the openness naturally encourages exploration.

Facilities are in good condition, and the overall atmosphere is relaxed and visitor-friendly. It’s a great example of a regional attraction that caters well to travellers, locals, and their dogs alike.

Pro-Tip

The off-lead area is fantastic, but best enjoyed by dogs with strong recall — otherwise keep a lead handy so everyone stays relaxed.
