🐶 Ralph’s Pawspective

Ah, the life of a city pup! We scored a corner table at The Thistle Café, which meant prime people-watching real estate. From our spot, Luna and I got to supervise the passing parade of joggers, latte-sippers, and brunch-goers, all while keeping an eye out for any sneaky crumbs. 🥐👀

The atmosphere was lively, with the kind of buzz that makes a pup’s ears perk up every few minutes.

Luna was absolutely fascinated by the constant hum of chatter and clinking cups, while I enjoyed the occasional head tilt at the waitstaff whizzing past.

The staff were friendly enough to us pups, and even gave us some delicious treats… and we had a great vantage point pup-watching other four-legged friends dotted around the tables. Tail wags were exchanged from afar (but apparently, “no Ralph, you can’t go say hi” was the rule of the day… rude).

Honestly, between the city vibes, the friendly faces, and the low-key competition of who can make eye contact with more dogs first (spoiler: I won), it was a tail-wagging good time. 🐾

👤 Human Highlights

Formerly on the site of the old The Moray Café, The Thistle has had a refresh and is quickly establishing itself as a go-to brunch spot in New Farm. The new branding fits the lively atmosphere, and it’s already pulling in strong weekend crowds.

We tucked into the Eggs Benedict with salmon, and it was every bit as delicious as it looked, perfectly poached eggs, smooth hollandaise, and good slices of salmon. The menu offered plenty of brunch classics with a modern twist, making it hard to choose just one dish.

Between the tasty food, friendly staff, and the dog-friendly outdoor seating, The Thistle is definitely one of those places you’d return to for a lazy Sunday brunch or a midweek coffee. Just be ready to wait for a table on weekends, because the locals clearly know it’s a winner.
